When building our new factory, we placed a strong emphasis on environmental protection and energy efficiency.
Through the adoption of modern technologies, we have achieved significant energy savings and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. Rather than freon and ammonia, CO₂ is used for freezing fish, cutting electricity consumption by up to 15%. Additionally, innovative production lines maximize fish utilization and eliminate harmful waste.
We use environmentally friendly biomass to heat the factory, ensuring neutral CO₂ emissions. Wastewater is treated via filtration and purification systems, while special separators help prevent unpleasant odors from spreading. Furthermore, floors feature waterproofing to protect soil and groundwater from contamination. Sorted waste is regularly disposed of in collaboration with authorized waste management companies, minimizing our ecological footprint.
Sardina implements stringent quality control following the HACCP system and ISO 9001 standard, upholding the highest environmental and production standards.
A dedicated quality control team continuously monitors all stages of production, supported by a state-of-the-art laboratory that oversees every critical control point in the process. This system ensures consistent inspection of raw materials, processing, and packaging, guaranteeing the safety and premium quality of the products delivered to our customers.

Through this audit, Sardina d.o.o. aims to verify that its fish farming operations are conducted in accordance with the principles of sustainability, environmental protection, and socially responsible business practices.
